I tow with a 460 with E40D and 410's. I'm wondering if I change to a lower stall converter for more torque will I be able to reduce my RPM's while pulling hills and be able to maintain the same speed that I used to do at higher RPM?
And, would that mean that I would have to increase RPM's to cruise at normal highway speeds?
My 460 lives between 2 and 3,000 RPM for everything now and isn't to bad on fuel. If I end up having to increase the RPM's for cruising, the increased fuel cost probably wouldn't be worth torque gain.
Anybody have any thought's on this.
Thanks
