460 spark plug wires

I just bought Motorcraft replacement plug wires for my 460 in an F-53 chassis Motorhome from my local Ford Dealer. I got them home and in looking at them I find that the plugs boots are different colored. There are three grey and five black.I went back thinking that some had been switched. The parts guy opened up another box of wires and same thing three grey five black. No one at the dealership either in parts or service knows why. I called Ford Motorhome Division and they do not know. Any body know why the different colors?

It is quiet possible those three should or could go next to a very high heat source...look to see it any of the current ones on the engine are tucked tight in a "very warm" area.....just a thought

Tim, the originals also had three gray, five black. They are installed on cylinders 2-4-7. I guess Ford considers that these three cylinders run hotter than the others. 4 I can see 2 and 7 I don't know. Also I guess they never considered selling you all eight high heat resitant. Yea right.
