My truck has been in the shop for 1 week and they just finished. I brought it in for the CAC recall, Fuel injector harness recall, and transmission reverse gear recall. I also had them check a tiny oil leak. The service manager told me that the leak was not comming from the rear main seal when they pulled the transmission to do the recall. He said the leak was taken care of by the CAC recall.
Does this sound right? Could I have a very slow oil leak from the intercooler tube? Just checking if this sounds right. This is a huge truck dealer and they have a separate diesel shop so the mechanics only work on diesels. I assume they know what they are doing. Well time will tell if the leak is fixed.
Oil vapors are present in the turbocharger tubes, and the intercooler. These vapors seep out of the joints in the system. This could be what the service writer was referring to, though the oil is mixed with dirt and clings to the surfaces rather than droplets
