Intermittent problem......finally solved.

Hey guys,

I finally got the bugs out of my retro-fit intermittent wipers today!
I was stupid when I installed them and broke the ground strap off the intermittent switch, therefore they would only wipe on the slowest intermittent setting.

I bought a new/used switch off a friend and finally installed it last week. I knew when I bought it that it was out of an '87, but it LOOKED the same. So I get it installed, radio back in, tach back on the column and the bezel back on and the intermittent side works, YEAH!

Well all is good until I am going down the street and the windshield is extremely dirty. Go to wash them off and guess what, no response from the washers when the button is pushed! Damn. Go pull the switch out today and there is one less spade on the back of the switch than the original! Guess they weren't the same!

No problem, all I had to do is shove a spade terminal into the wiring harness and shove the switch on so there is contact. Turn the key and whiirrrrrrr without pushing the washer button. I tear it apart again and find that a power lead and the washer lead are connected. I drilled out the connection and she works!! So a later model switch will work, just with an extra spade terminal and a litle drilling!

just had to tell you guys about my little victory!
