sorry for the infrequest updates... they keep thinking I should do things for this pittance they give me each month ??? what's that all about...?????
Just got back from a Memphis trip and Cole is doing fine. He finished Chemo round 3 of 4 week before last but came down with a fever and had to be readmitted for a week… that’s when we were there and he was grumpy enough for several kids. More bored than grumpy I guess , being cooped up for an extra week, but his Grammy (and I) tried to take the edge off that with toys… it worked most of the time, but he is REALLY tired of that hospital room.
He only has one more Chemo treatment sometime around the end of August or first of September. Then a full range of test for follow up…. MRI, Lumbar puncture, eye, hearing, psychological, etc to fulfill the study requirements and to make sure he’s ready to leave… Hopefully he’ll be home in Mobile by the end of September or first of October. Then, the fun starts… turning him back into a normal little boy that’s not spoiled rotten J
Mom and Dad will hopefully return to school in January and find some part time jobs.. and things can slowly return to some degree of normalcy. Last week marked one year since the first symptom of the tumor and it’s truly been a tough year on Cole and his parents. I still believe that the excellent outcome is attributed to all the thoughts and prayers that all of you have been offering. The toys and gifts and cards have made it easier for Cole and been a real morale booster for his parents. The money was a big help also. There is no adequate way to thank all of you for your help.
Hopefully my next update will be me complaining about having to help move all the ‘stuff’ they’ve accumulated in Memphis down to Mobile. Anyone got any connections with “two men and a truck “ ??. We’re not finished yet so please continue to remember Cole and all the other kids at St. Jude in your prayers and thoughts.. but there is light at the end of the tunnel.
John,
We will continue to keep Cole and his family in our thoughts and prayers. Nice to hear things are moving in the right direction, albeit a few bumps in the road. Thanks for the update.
John-
Thanks for the update and glad to hear he is responding well to the treatment. Sick children put alot things in perspective. Will continue to pray for his complete recovery.

Thanks for the update. It is good to hear that he is progressing well. It is also amazing that he is handling it as well as he has. All those procedures are such a strain on a little boy. Grumpy is certainly understandable.
We will always be happy to hear some good news about Cole. There is, perhaps, just one or two things that sometimes get shoved aside. Whether it sounds selfish, or not, it is about Grandads. It takes a special man of strength and humility to bear the sadness of a situation like Cole's. He carries the sorrow of his wife and his children and the plight of a little boy. He must abide. They need his strength and they need his support. More importantly, they need his love. Perhaps these elements are without apparent form and Grandads are in the back row just hanging in. I'm proud to know a man who takes such loving care of his family.
Great to hear the update. God is good and prayer does work. Cole is a special young man and I hope you tell him it was the skill of his doctors guided by the grace of God, and the love of his family, that got him down this road.
On occasions I think about Cole and wonder how he is doing. Thanks for the updates, and it's always good to hear he's doing well and hanging in there. I hope and pray he gets out of the hospital soon. I'm sure he'll feel a whole lot better being at home. Not sure what "two men and truck" means?
In GOD we trust. More than words on money. Thanks for the update John, Lil Cole is always in our prayers. I hope everything gets back on track soon for all of your family. Jonathan

John, as a man about to enter fatherhood in OCT I can only imagine the love that you have for your family. God has a funny way of working things out, but one must know that he does have a plan for everyone. His plan for Cole is definitely to overcome this hardship and to become a strong young man.
God's blessings to you and your family!
Great update, John. I am sure that this has been a stressful ordeal for everyone involved, but it sounds as though the rough stuff is just about done. Best of wishes to Cole for continued recovery...Fox
