changing rear end seals

I have a 89 F250 7.3 4x4 with 276K miles. Over the last 2-3 weeks the rear end has started to develop a big leak that appears to be coming from the point in the rear end where the drive shaft connects. I assume that there are some seals that have finally decided to let go. How hard is it to change the seals.

Thanks
Ken

Ken this would be the pinion seal. They are not that hard to change.
Remove driveline, then remove pinion nut this can be a big pain without an impact wrench. After removing the nut you'll need to pull the yoke, most of the time these will come off with a little lite discussion using a hammer, some times they require a puller. With the yoke removed you can pop the seal out using the seal puller of your choice. Reinstall in reverse be sure to torque the pinion nut to specs and you should be good to go. one other thing inspect the seal surface on the yoke for grooves if it is grooved replace it.
