Turning radius 04 vs 06

I've got an 04 CC LB Dually. Am really enjoying it, but she doesn't have a very tight turning radius. U-turns are at best a joke. Am wondering how much better the newer tighter turning radius is on the newer trucks. I've heard the made it a bit shorter. Is it real improvement?

I think around 6 foot better in the CC long bed form. But can't remember off the top of my head.
Someone up in the SuperDuty section will probably know. I shall move the thread there for you

BigF350 sounds about right, I believe it is down to under 50' now. I still have to backup to complete a U-turn a lot of the time. But having said that I find it easier to manuver my 05 F350 CC LB DRW that I did my 95 F250 SC LB.

the other guys are dead on. On the 05 model the 250-350 was reduced by 5.5 ft. and the 450-550 was reduced by 12 ft.

Yeah, they put in those crazy front knuckles didn't they - the ones that almost turn 45degrees...

I had an 04 CC 4x4 SB and now I have the same truck in a LB. The difference is very noticable and this big tank wheeks around town much easier than my 04.
Not only do the new 4X4s turn so much sharper, they do it with a full turn and a half less on the steering wheel. Do some tight right turns on your 04, then take a new one over the same drive, you will be impressed.

Might have to try one of the new ones...

It seems like doing a U'ie in my '04 350 CC LB requires changing zip codes...

My 05 CC SB turns tighter than my 98 f150 SC SB. It still amazes me.

And how does that work out with the front hubs locked? My '01's axles flop around when the wheel is turned all the way to the end.

With the even tighter turning radius, how do the front axles feel?

Funny, my niece and sister both have Infiniti SUV's, and the darn thing is so small and yet has a WORSE turning radius than my '01 SB SC 4x4...

I find flooring the throttle, with full lock on, sharpens the turning radius a fair bit

U-turns for me are generally allot more like three point turns. Other than that I'm really happy with the truck. When your driving down the road the truck rides and handles like a much smaller truck. You quickly learn how big it is when you try to manuever around a parking lot or make a U-turn! I do allot of plowing in the winter and am a bit affraid of how difficult thats going to be!

6 foot it is but in real life, in a parking lot, and backing a trailer...seems like 12 foot

or driving an old VW
