I love my floor jack and compared to other scissor jacks there is no contest. However - I HATE the little bolt that releases the pressure. Does anyone have a great/quick modification that makes releasing the pressure easy/controllable?
Most jacks from the factory work real well. Unfortunately most people over tighten the release screw and ruin the seat. It just takes finger pressure to tighten the valve. My jacks live a long time and release very smooth but I do not let ANYBODY use them.
Pursang nailed it already. Get creative. Take a solid 1/2 steel dowel rod and drill the end out so it will fit over the release button. Crosscut a slot on that hole to fit the roll pin tee on the button. Make a bracket and attach it to the handle so the dowel can be made long enough to almost reach the handle grip and you will not have to bend over to reach it. Or maybe do like I did if you are fat and dont bend in the mid section anymore too well. Buy a floor jack in which you just turn the handle to set/release the valve.
