Rear Dif.

I have a 4.10 diff (short for differential)
I have 33" tires, would I have to change the ring and pinion gear (instead of pinion and gear)? What would happen if I put 35s on with 4.10s?

See the changes? I hope that helps you.

I HAVE A F 150 FLARESIDE 1995 4X4.
MY REAR OEM IS 4.10???
I DONT KNOW WHIC ONE Y HAVE MY TRUCK IS ALL STANDARD
WHAT YOU RECOMEND FOR 33 TIRES AND WHICH ONE FOR 35
THANKS A LOT AND SORRY ABOUT MY POOR ENGLISH

i have 3.73 gears with 31's and i think thats about the right gearing 35's with 4.10's wouldnt be to bad. it will take some bottom end out of your truck it will be slower off the line and your spedo will be out of calibration. i know guys that have 33's with 3.08 gears and there trucks are terds now mind you they only have 4.9's

If I were putting 35's on my truck I would definately consider regearing to 4.56. But think that you are 4x4 and would need to replace both front and rear gears. That would be very $$$.

If might do it if I had alot of money lying around, or i'd stay at 33's and your 4.10's.
Check your door tag for the axel code and come tell us what it is. We'll tell you which gears you have currently.

If I understand correctly, you want to know what kind of differences there would be between having 33" tires with 4.10's and 35" with 4.10's, right? And if by going from a 33" to a 35" you have to change anything?

You will drop maybe 200-300 rpm going down the highway with the 35's, which will probly give you a bit better mileage. But you won't have to change anything in the rear end to accomodate the bigger tires. You might have some clearance issues, but I'm guessing the truck is already lifted.

I'm sorry but the "would I have to change the ring and pinion gear (instead of pinion and gear)?" part completely baffled me. There are only two gears in your rear end which affect speed/performance - the ring and pinion. There are 4 side gears in the rear end, but those work to send power to either wheel, not in acceleration.

Ford used a few different setups OEM in 4x4. The had 3.08, 3.55, and 3.73. I'm not sure if 4.10 was OEM or not, but the axle code on the door can tell you what was factory.

4.10 is ok with 35s on a manual transmission. The automatic transmission would be ok as well, but 4.56s would be better.
