I recently ordered a set off hedman long tube headers to put on my 95 ford f150 (5.0 EFI) I ordered a weld on oxygen bung to relocate the oxygen sensor from my first catalytic converter into one of my headers.(This was my first problem) My only problem now is after inspecting my stock exhaust i saw that there is a tube the connects into the top of the catalytic converter. My first question is, is this tube the egr valve tube or what? Secondly how can i put on this set of headers and bypass that or what do i have to do in order to reconnect that piece to my headers? I would really like to put these headers on soon so i can finish the rest of my exhaust. Please reply if you know what i can do. Thanks.
I'd also like to know what the egr does? thanks again
It's a fresh Air injection tube. You can cut it off wihtout problems I cut mine off and left it hangin there. No problems Check my gallery, I have pics of it.
No i will have no cats in the system. My plan is to run the exhaust from the headers into about a 2 ft of 3 inch pipe on both sides, run the pipe through two twelve inch glasspacks and have them exit at 45 degree angles in front of my rear tires with 24 inch tips with 4 inch angle cuts. itll probly be too obnoxiously loud but it mostly a farm truck and we are out in podunk anyways. Thanks for your help again!
Oh alright...sounds like a great setup. This comin up of week Im gonna dual out mine with some glasspacks too . The AIR tube is for the cat, but since you aint got none, dont even worry about it.
