Legal question ;-)
I need to replace my exhaust system because the previous owner was of the mind that "Oh just slap some duct tape on that and it will be fine!" SOOOOOO, I want to know if it would be "legal" to replace the non cat system with another non cat system? Or was the legality of it grandfathered into law?

Legal question ;-)
If it's on the road, it's supposed to have a cat (at least that's what I was told here in Alabama). However, I've always bypassed it (shhhhh) even on a late model convertible I used to own. It was clogged so I found a shop that put in a pipe instead of replacing the cat...good thing we don't have vehicle inspections here!:P
