Did Lizzie Borden Do It?
Lizzie and her sister are really the only ones that are known to have a motive; Money. Lizzie's sister Emma was in another town when the murders took place. Lizzie was in the house during her mom's killing but out in the barn looking for fishing sinkers during her father's killing. So she say's.
Most people just automatically figure Lizzie did it. But the problem is this:
1. If Lizzie did it how did she keep the blood off herself? One of the ladies who came over moments after the killing looked Lizzie over real good for blood and never found a spot. Lizzie could have put on a dress (maybe the one she burned in the stove) to cover the one she was wearing but what about her face and hair? It was very hot that day. If Lizzie put a sac over her head her sweat would have drenched her hair, face and collar. Yet she was not drenched, her hair was fine. Lizzie did not have enough time to clean herself up and get dressed if she did the killings in the nude.
2. If Lizzie did it, where did she put the hatchet? She called the maid down moments after her dad was killed. Blood was still oozing from the wounds. She never left the house. The motion picture showed Lizzie putting it in the basement toilet. Did the police ever dredge it? Did she hide it in the house and retrieve it later? The broken hatchet was not involved in the killing. In the 1920's a hatchet was found in the barn when it was torn down but it turned out to be a roofer's hatchet if I remember right.
3. The maid was outside when Mrs. Borden was killed but she was inside (in her upstairs bedroom, so she says) when Mr. Borden got the axe. The maid had no motive and nothing to gain. The maid also had no blood on herself.
My gut tell's me that Lizzie did not do the killing but either knew who did it or hired it done. If a guy was hired he would have had to hide in the house between killings, probably in a closet. The killings took place 1 to 1 1/2 hours apart. Old man Borden came home earlier than expected that day. Was the killer willing to hide in a closet for 3-4 hours? Hiding in a closet for 3-4 hours on a hot day would have been unbearable. What if the maid opened the closet door? What if the guy had to take a pee? On the other hand, the wounds look too shallow to have been caused by a man. If I had been chopping away there would not have been anything left of their skulls. But a woman...?

Lizzie Borden took an axe.
Gave her mother forty wacks.
Look and saw what had done.
Gave her father forty one.
Sorry 1bigsteve, had to type that one in.

I knew it was coming
.Actually it go's this way:
Lizzie Borden took an axe
and gave her mother fourty wacks,
when she saw what she had done
she gave her father fourty one.
Actually her mother was hit, if I remember right, nineteen times and her father eleven times. That to me show's more anger toward her step mother. Nobody hated her step mother more than Emma and Lizzie as far as I know. Either Lizzie did it or she hired it done. I don't think any one would brave hiding in a closet for several hours without the "protective assistance" of an accomplice. In my opinion it was an inside job. It's possible that Emma slipped back into Fall River unseen, did the deed with Lizzie's help, then slipped back to the town she was supposed to be in before the telegram arrived telling her that her parents were dead.
What puzzle's me is that Lizzie's uncle, who "never" visited, showed up to spend the night before the murders and had an airtight alibi for his where abouts at the time of the murders the next morning and Emma, who "never" left the house, took a trip to a nearby town just before the murders. Very odd. It seems like the family was setting up the hit, "The coast is clear. Tell Guido to bring his hatchet." Or it could have that Emma didn't want to be in the same house with her uncle and left. Lizzie had the house to herself. The maid was outside washing windows and...

In 1892? OJ is older than I thought
.I think the OJ trial was a no-brainer but it's too bad the police planted blood evidence. If they had left it alone OJ would be in jail. I think.
No one ever established what size glove OJ did wear. Of course sizes vary with the manufacturer like shoes and such. I don't think OJ could wear an XL glove but the latex glove episode was a joke anyway. They should have had him try them on (or a duplicate pair) without the latex or had his hands measured.
The Borden case has alot more twist and turns. I wonder what ever happened to the Borden furniture, the horse hair sofa Mr. Borden was laying on and the bed and dresser in the room Mrs. Borden was killed in. Nice style. I bet it would bring a mint at auction now.

I had my fill of the Zodiac when he/she was on the lose. Never cared for Physcos. It's the "how it was done" that interest me in the Borden case. There is alot more there than just "Lizzie did it."
The D.B. Cooper case doesn't interest me. I don't think there is much of a mystery there. Either the parachute opened and he died of exposure (some of his money was found) or it didn't open and he got planted next to a tree.

The S.F.P.D. were doing their routine in citing us when a call came over their radio.
A possible citing of the Zodiac Killer.
I never seen anyone (police) run so fast to to their squad car and take off so quickly.
We didn't get cited.
Maybe the Zodiac killer and Lizzie Borden went hacking around.
