If it is drop I beams you are looking for just pick up a copy of Truckin, it's about an inch thick and loaded with places to buy lowering kits for our trucks.
well, if your lookin for "dropped" i beams, your goint to lift it, if your lookin for lowering i beams, well your lowering. which are you lookin to do?
welcome jfredmoran,i personally cant answer your question about drop axles, but im sure you can get the info on this site.hope you enjoy the site, there are tons of helpful people here.-billy
Im with Mblayton. Truckin' is the best magazine. I found all the "junk" to lower my '50 F-1 there and all at reasonable prices. Actually I cant believe none of these guys have tried to twist your arm into lifting your truck. Personally I could care less as long as its a Ford. can I get an Amen?
I would say Truckin/sport truck/classic truck magazine should have your answers. Usually most places have a website, which are great for looking at detailed pix. I don't think you will find forged lowered beams anymore. I bought my forged drop beams for my 79, about 12 years ago, and that place is out of business now. They only make welded units for these trucks now. I would suggest getting ones with square tubing, and not the round tube lowered Ibeams. It is my belief that the square tubing will stand up better to torsional twist. I've lowered 2 pre 79 fords, if you have some more questions, just PM/email me, I'd be glad to help.
Just another note I purchased my lowering kit for my 69 swb from Godfather Customs, (they are in Georgia) and my I-beams are square tube, I was also told to stay away from the round because they tend to bend. Totally happy with what I got and it was a good price to boot. Good luck!
