What ton weight trailer?
What size trailer (in tons) would you used to tow a F250 2 wheel drive? The over all gross vehicle weight of the truck is estimated at 5000-6000 lbs. Given this a 3 ton would work? Does anyone know if this is correct?
Any one also know the over all width required to fit this stock truck on a trailer? 6' 6", 7', 8' ?????

A normal tandem-axle car hauler has two 3500# axles, 7000# gross. Subtract the weight of the trailer itself, around 1200-1500#, leaves you 5500# or so for payload. That is normally plenty for a pickup. I think pickups will fit on the usual 83" wide trailer. Next size up for a standard trailer is two 5000# axles.

It should fit (width wise) on a 7 foot wide trailer (as noted in previous post 83"). My 1971 F-100 has a track width of 79" with stock sized tires (10.5 w). You need at least a 16 foot long trailer with a long bed. If the capacity is 3 tons, then you will be okay with a 2x4 stock truck.
