What do you guys know about the 1972 Ford LTD 2-door? What engines were available? Did they have any major trouble spots? All info is appreciated.

I seem to recall that the 351W was standard, with the 400 and 429 as options. The Broughams had one of the most luxurious interiors you could get in a car that year. OUTSTANDING car reliability-wise, BTW. Consumer Reports ranked it (along with the '71 and '73) as one of the most-reliable cars you could buy that year.

My relatives had a 72 LTD an my folks had a 73 LTD. What great cars my relatives 72 had over 200,000 miles before they needed to do anything with it. My folks 73 I had when I was in high school. Great car an a great AC. That thing would freeze you out when you had it on. Traded that thing for a truck. The kid who got it used it another five years. I wishthey would bring those cars back.
