What is a tcs? I've been working on Fords for a long time, and I've never heard of that part. Is it known by another name? Do you mean tps?

transmission control switch- truck loses torque at highway cruising speeds maybe its shifting down. when this happens at 60 mph on road engine revs if i dont get foot off accelerator and torque suddenly comes back tranny slams back into gear feels like i got rear ended by a vw.actron code scanner gave code 653 -tcs did not switch during key on engine running self test. where is switch located?

took to shop ran through snap on scanner.he said soelinoid was going bad and said it was an aode service bulliton/recall issue .said ford had been saying that soleinoid had problems and to switch it out with improved solenoid.$400-$500 parts and labor. i had taken it to another shop who said i needed a full rebuild after taking it on a road test but with no scan .i thought that was a load of crap as the truck only has 83500 miles on it.ihave been told that the aode tranny is a good strong transmission . am i right or wrong? i had hoped for 150000 miles out of it before any major overhauls. i take good care of my vehicles.this is totally over my head and i dont want to get ripped off!
