Check out some of the auto sales web sites on the net. They usually have info about auto shippers and customer feedback as well. Should help you decide. Why not get a friend to drive it? Unless it is going overseas.
I take it from what you have typed...you are moving to Philly. So then I would also assume that you are probably driving a moving truck there. Why not a dolly? Pull it bahind the biggest vehicle? OK...so if that is not an option, or the situation, then maybe you can get someone to drive it there that can either stay with you as you drive another vehicle, (if there is another one), or you may have to bite the bullet and decide to trust someone. I'm not against using a transport company, it's just they can be expensive. And then you have to trust them to get your ride to the new place unharmed.
Just for the hell of it...I did hit one site and they want $875 to transport it.
I don't want to come off as a jerk. I thank you for the input. I recently moved from Minnesota to New Jersey and I did Exactly that. I now Live in New Jersey and Bought a Truck online. It happens to be in Texas. I am looking at several companies now on http://www.auto-transport-reviews.com. I am finding that it works a lot like Ebay's feedback thing. Sure, if you have a bad experiance, you can blast them, but they can also respond....you get both sides of the story.

I had a classic car shipped from Washington state to NJ by Intercity Lines.
If you want an open transport, you'll need to use somebody else. They do enclosed only.
If I remember correctly, it was about $1800 door to door. It was the second cheapest quote I got. The cheapest was Horseless Carriage. There was only a $150 difference.
Intercity is used often by classic car enthusiasts, and I'd use them again in a heartbeat.
A friend recently moved to the west coast and used Intercity to move three cars. www.intercitylines.com
