Hello
Hello all! I am new to the forum and this is my first post. Figured it'd be a good way to start. I live in central La. and am getting ready to pull my pop's '60 F100 Short Step 292V8 3spd from the weeds in the back yard. Poor baby shouldn't have been there. He parked it in '77 when he got his new truck, but started it once a month. Well in '80 a high school buddy of mine and I decided to play mechanic, we pulled the carb to rebuild. It still sets on the shelf in the shop and my baby where she was parked. I will have to totally dismantle, rust and possible, probable frozen motor. But, she deserves to be brought back. Will start as rod, rebuild the motor, running gear and go in close to the dark green suede paint.
I currently am a member of the PCS & Cadillac LaSalle Club of America. I also subscribe to CKD. Are there any magizines out there about vintage Ford trucks like mine. I would love to see something with tips, galleries and hot rods of this type. Like the forum here, but something I can have in the "office" and bedroom to read.

Ok, well I secured a shop today... The same one I checked on last summer for 250.00 + electric, now he says 150.00 +... Hopefully I will get the truck moved in next weekend to start the tear down. Lot's of pics as I go.
Got a wire diagram on ebay, need to order a shop manual and others now. Got a guy in OKC going to rebuild motor for me, if it's salvagable. Going to get it into the shop and try the coke soak on it... If not will be in market for new 292.
Not going to be total restoration but more of a rod, would love to do a trip duece but not sure, will let him tell me about it. Going to be using you guys alot, so be ready...
