Sorry, no pics yet. My setup is a Redneck ram. Been pretty happy with it. My only complaint is that the ram has dripped since day one.

HaHa....untrue. This is what 4wp has instilled in your mind.

I have wheeled my vehicle on rocks without a steering stabilizer.....no problems. My steering is setup correctly....

The two hose go from the ram to the steering box. The price is definately more than $250! You might get part of the system for $250. They basically rebuilt my steering box and drilled & tapped it for the two hydralic lines. They sent the modified steering box, ram, hoses, and mounting hardware in the package.

OMG, that guys a FRIGGIN IDIOT! NOBODY else has noticed those front lift blocks? ahhhhh AHHHHHHH. that scares me!

steering stabilizers suck. they are a waste and just something else to add weight. plus they just mask a real problem

here is how the hydro assist is done. you drill and tap 2 holes in your steering gear box, then you have your cylinder which is usually something about 2" bore/8" stroke which one end of the cylinder is attached to the front axle housing and the other end is attached to the drag link of your steering, then you have your hoses. i chose to use reusable fittings for my setup which allows me to field repair my hose should something happen to a hose. thats pretty much it. very simple yet VERY very nice to have. i can sit on concrete and turn with just the touch of my pinky finger! i built and put together my hydro assist system for just a touch under $125

If you Rock crawl there is ABSOLUTELY no need for a steering stabilizer...well, first of all, they are for going fast in mud and hitting logs or ruts that jerk the wheel and rip your thumbs off. Steering stabilizers dont protect your PS system or anything, they are just for comfort. If you Rock-race then maybe they are a good idea just to help keep control.
But personally (not to sound arrogant, but), if its not hydro its not for me I go through steering parts too quickly- oh wait, everyone does! Just go hydro!

Nobody should have need for more than one, assuming everything is properly setup. Notice I run 44's and only use one. I also strongly agree going to hydro assist with big meats.

I was running 44's with 1 stabilizer (stock stabilizer, not aftermarket) and no problems. Now I'm running hydro assist. Multiple stabilizers is kind of like adding a gazillion shocks to your truck. Sure, it's something to spend money on and makes it look impressive but it's not going to do you any favors. Save the $$ and spend it on something useful . . . like chrome.

Steering Stabilizers are a life saver with manual steering

When I bought my 73, it came with one stabilizer and I took it off cause it helped when trying to steer through city streets. Then I took it off-road once and almost broke all of my fingers...A few days after the swelling went down, I put it back on This was with 33x12.50 bald-terrains.

Now that I have 38.5x15 boggers on a Dana 60 with power steering, Im going to expirement with the single stabilizer that came with the truck and the dual stabilizer that came with the D60. I think having one is better than none otherwise its the gearbox sector shaft that takes all of the shock loads in the steering. I also think it would add safety in the event of a front tire blow out with tires big or small.
