Bearing grease.
After rebuilding the front brakes with new bearings and all. I read the label on the grease suggested by autozone for packing the bearings which stated not recommended or disk brakes. Of course mine are disk. Anyone know the diffrence and do I really need to repack the front bearings. thanks 77HB

Your grease probably isn't a high temp grease. You need high temperature grease in there because hubs with disc brakes get hotter that a hub with drum brakes. I'm not sure if I could leave it like that, I would repack with the right grease. Just my $.02 ...Terry

The thing with bearing grease us that when it fails, the bearing will seize and it'll be really dramatic. Once used "all purpose" grease on a front bearing in a Lincoln town car. I was planning on driving it less than a hundred kms, but it didn't last that long. the grease cooked, the bearing exploded and the wheel fell off, partially destroying the brakes at the same time. It was alarming, to say the least. Get the best grease you can for those bearings and you'll never have to worry.

For bearings, make sure the package is labeled with the GC certification. (reference http://www.nlgi.com/Certification.Htm for more info)
Many common (and high quality) greases do not meet this standard and are not meant for automotive bearings.

Sorry, had a lazy moment.
Thanks or all the input. I knew I couldn't live with the fact that I had used the wrong grease. So the new bearing have been repacked with the proper grease. Thanks again. Just needed a push that day. 77hb
