Good Morning Everyone. This is my first post on the forum, but I have been reviewing some of the past threads and the information is really helpful.
I have a problem and hope someone can help me. I have a 2002 Explorer with 34,000 miles. Yesterday morning I drove the explorer normally. Then yesterday afternoon I went to start it and Nothing!
The Theft light is blinking faster than normal and I hear a clicking sound (when the key is out of the ignition) which appears to be coming from the relay box under the hood. I have swapped relays and the problem continues. I disconnected the neg. battery cable to reset the system, but no luck.
Also when I put the key in the iginition, I hear that same clicking sound and the dash gauges go crazy! I thought maybe it was the theft system, but I am not sure.
I am a novice with repairs but any thoughts or help would be appreciated.

Sounds like a dead battery. Have you tried jumping it or charging the battery? It you have the headlights on and turn the key, do the lights die or dim?
As I said, I'm a novice. You were right it was a dead battery. Apparently it had enough juice to run accessories. Glad it wasn't anything more serious, I've already had one tranny rebuilt and some o2 sensors replaced..
