Hello Everyone My name is Robbie I just purchased a 1999 F250 7.3 4x4 crew cab with 188000 miles. The truck runs great getting about 16.6 mpg. I purchased the truck to pull a 34ft travel trailer.
I have been doing some reading about the chip tuners and purchased the Diablo Predator. I was reading the manual and it said I needed to have the factory tune in the truck before making any change. I called the local Ford dealer and they said to remove the battery cables for 10 min. to reset the computer. Has any one tried this?

Tim sorry about the panic state yesterday. I finally got it figured out; you can disconnect the batteries to reset the computer. Also, please have patients with me I have never been a member of a site like this. Is there any I can get some instructions on how to close a thread?

Welcome to FTE, Rob. We're a pretty easy-going bunch here, so don't stress over asking ANY questions whatsoever, ok? Threads just kind of "end" when the issue has been adequately addressed, then we all move on to the next. No way to close them out via a computer command, etc.
Enjoy your new ride, and feel free to keep the questions coming. No such thing as a stupid question here, ok?
Thanks, I appreciate that. I am sure I will be asking many questions later on. This is my first diesel truck. I have own four Broncos and two F150's. I love them Ford trucks..
