Im trying to install a tranny temp sensor in my 01 F-250 with an automatic and trying to find the best place to intall it and where i can get a sensor. Thought about using the dran plug but i cant find a metric sensor. If anyone whould have any ideas it would help out a lot. Thank you

Go to blackclouddiesel.com and Garret can help with the correct items. As for the sensor location I put mine on the rear side of the hump behind the drain plug. This position helps protect the sensor from damge and is not in harms way of being hit by something. Good luck.
Put the sensor in the test port on the driver side.Its a small plug right by all the wiring stuff.Cant miss it.Its right above and to front of a pan bolt.
My 02 came right out with a 1/4 drive ratchet.And thats in michigan with all the salt.Must be the guy who put it must have been putting it in on a friday and didnt get it to tight.
If you must have it in the pan, go to tsscoolers.com, I just seen a fitting that will replace the plug with an 1/8MPT center in it for the sensors. From what i have read here, there is no real difference in the temp from the pan to the pressure port on the driver side (just above the pan 2 nd bolt back), it's up to you, but the pressure test port is up out of harms way...
