Help identifying a part

I need some help identifying a part. Its where the brake pedal shaft goes into the firewall. There's some sort of plunger device there. Whaveter it is, its causing a large vacuum leak that is affecting everything that runs off of the vacuum on the truck. When the brake pedal all the way down (while running), the hissing sound stops and the idle becomes smoothe. I think all I need to do is replace that part, so if anyone knows what that is called, or has had that problem and knows a fix, please let me know.
I have a picture of the culprit, but I dont konw how to insert it in here.

Thanks,
Matt

I think you're looking at the back of the brake booster, where it fits through the firewall.

You need to replace the power brake booster, $80 to $100 for a rebuilt one at most parts stores.

picture of problem

Here's a picture of where the sound is coming from. Is it possible just to replace this or something inside of this instead of buying a $100 power booster?

Thanks,
Matt

You pic is the butt end of the booster. There is a rubber diaphragm inside the large booster housing that goes bad. The only way to fix this is to replace the whole booster.

Ditto. You need to replace the whole booster.
