Hi everyone. I have a 78 f250, 351m, np435 tranny. In need of a clutch and input shaft seal on tranny. Do you have to split the tranny to install the seal or does it mount from the front? Also, any advice on what clutch to use would be greatly appreciated. The engine is fresh with a mild cam and the truck has a 4" lift with 38" Boggers and will probably see a decent amount of mud. Thanks for your help..
Local parts store will have the seal and gasket. Just remove the input bearing retainer 4 bolts its easy. I am running a Center Force Dual Friction clutch it works excellent.

MMM, I dont know about the parts houses having that seal... Maybe Napa, or another good parts house. It is a PITA to install also. I am running a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch, I like it so far. The pedal has a light feel to it and also has weights on the clutch fingers for added grip. Expect to pay around $300 for it tho. A good HD clutch should do the job for you. While you are at it, install a new pilot bearing, and resurface your flywheel.
