Hi all
On my '86 150 4x4, 5.0L AOD, I'm getting a shake especially right after a hard acceleration, and a reverb. shake after bumps. I noticed the tranny mount looks a little shabby.
The crossmember is tight, the tranny bolts to crossmember are tight, but I can get in there with a crow bar and "wiggle" The tranny a bit.
The question is, how much "wiggle" dictates time for a new tranny mount?????????
Should the tranny mave at all?????
Thanks
Usually when a trans or engine mount goes bad, it's from being soaked in oil over a period of time. The rubber will swell up. If there is some doubt, support the trans tail shaft and unbolt the mount. It will only take 5min. and you will know for sure. Good luck.
