Anyone wire an iPod into their Expedition? Will Ford do it?

'05 Silver Expedition XLT, 2x4
Well, that all depends on what head-unit you have. If it's the stock single CD player with a port for a CD Changer then all you will need is an adapter (I will look around later for exactly what you need. If it's a 6-disc changer, you will need a new HU. If you plan to go aftermarket, Kenwood and Pioneer make an adapter that is pretty easy to install and also charges your Ipod while in use. Alpine has a direct plug and play setup, but it is kinda expensive. I did a lot of research and finally ended up using the Kenwood HU that I took out of my old car, and a Kenwood adapter, it works great and sounds awesome. Let me know what HU you have and I can guide you in the right direction.
I had the 6 disc changer, which I took out after I installed the Ipod. It works pretty good. You get a much better connection (sound) than with a FM modulator. It's a little on the pricey side, but you can uninstall it and use it in another vehicle if you sell your expedition. You would just need to buy a compatable wiring harness for the new vehicle ($10). I also highly recoomend this
