coil question
I got a new coil today, it came and said to install a BAllast resistor. When i took the old coil off it did not have a Ballast resistor on it and the red went to the neg. on the old coil. I put the new one on and put the ballast resistor on and put the red to pos and black to neg. This is on a 1983 302. The old coil said on it to use with Electronic ignition. the way i put it on like i said the new one it starded and worked fine. Should i remove the ballast resistor since the old one did not have one on it??? or was the old one put on wrong? thanks for any help
