Unhappy Vaccum Leak

What is the best way to find a vaccum leak?

I've never had issues with vaccum lines on my previous fords, but it's bogging when I stomp on it. And my AC moves to the defrost when it's under exceleration.

I ve herd of the fish tank hose trick, (it worked to test my EGR valve) but how do you tell where or which vaccum line is leaking coming off of the tree.

I can't see any signs of cracks or cuts.

Help..loosing that V10 power...must have it back!

The big vacuum leak that always pops up is the dreaded PCV elbow - follow the line from the PCV back to the throttle body, usually it cracks at the elbow.

Do you have ESOF?

Yea, I had to replace that little devil about 6 months ago. Hard spot to get to right under that billet. That elbow split right down the middle.

This leak is much smaller than that was. Can't hear any sucking noise like when the elbow split. And I am not pulling any codes. It just hesitates when I get on the gas moderate to heavy, then I can lay off and get back on it and it is fine. Anything over 2K RPM on the highway or going up a hill and the AC switches to the defrost vents.

I do have EFOS.

I am thinking it is one of the lines coming off the tree. I have never worked on those before, so any pointers will help. I am going to work on it this weekend.

I think there's a one-way valve in the vacuum line going to the heater box. That valve may be leaking, causing the heater box to lose vacuum when you're on the go-pedal.

Check it out. Should be a little round thing (like the size of a quarter but thicker) inline to the heater box.

On edit: Did you clean the MAF? That may be causing the hesitation.
