I am thinking about buying an 87 F-250 460 ZF for less than a thousand dollars, but the tranny grinds going into second and has the grinding noise. The owner just changed the oil to ams oil. He has owned the truck for about 1 year. The previous owners beat this truck badly. Also the truck has a brand new set of steeltex tires.
The plan is to place this transmission into my 84 F-350 460 4x4 t-19, so I can get some mileage and run the motor at lower rpm's.
