Pulled the ECM and there was a gold chip that said " PAC CHIPS". I know that PAC can be or is Programable Analog Chip. I plan on towing anything from a Case 580 SuperL to Concrete job boxes. I want to make sure that I do not injure the truck by chip ignorance.
Case 580 - 14,500lb
2000 F350 DRW CC
4" Stainless pipes - turbo to tail
Cold Air Kit
Pyrometer, boost, trans temp.
Also, this truck does not have load springs. Is this a must for hauling?
The guy I bought it from did take care of it, and he claims to have hauled horses and cattle twice. The hideaway gooseneck still has paint on it.
A gold module usually indicates a Superchips Module (will have Superchips stamped on it) or a boot-leg with anyone's guess as to what was programmed on it. Its probably either a 60 or 80HP tune. Get an EGT gauge so you can monitor exhaust temps and not have to worry about what's in it --- heat is the turbo killer. :
