PCM not controlling glow plug controller
I have battled a cold start problem on my 1995 F-250 7.3L for the 3 1/2 years that I have owned it.
I have at various times replaced the glow plug controller twice, both batteries, and all glowplugs and pigtails.
Nothing made much difference.
I have the truck in a shop now that was recommended by other Powerstroke owners. I am being told that the PCM is not operating the glow plug controller. He described using a resistor to fool the oil temp sensor into thinking it was 40 deg and still nothing.
Still, he does not know whether the problem is the PCM itself or possibly a short or bad connection somewhere.
Anyone had a similar experience?
