My new 73' - Questions
At any rate, I have a number of questions concerning the pick-up, if you can, please answer any or all of the questions.
1) It is a 390, and using dimensional analysis, I came up with it being 6.7 Liters, this sounds high? What is the exact displacement as far as "liters" are concerned?
2) Are there metal door panels available?
3) What are you 73' boys using for audio? I just want a solid 2 or 4 speaker system, probably 3-way speakers up front at least...As well, I am not into heavy bass or anything, so woofers and amps are out.
4) Can I switch the front and back seats, or do they have different mounting equipment?
5) What is the stock horsepower on this beast?
6) WOuld upgrading to a 4bbl carb be worth it? (From 2)
7) What size tires are you running? As of now, I have a mix: 16.5 up front, and 16 in the back...Don't ask me, I just got the truck. : )
I believe that should do it for now, thanks. BTW, I am jor's son if that means anything to anyone. The question is, did I just make some new friends, or did I make some enemies?

I had a 76 crewcab at one time. I'll go with what I remember. I don't think the front and rear seats will swap. The front seat has a finishing panel on the back of it the rear seat doesn't. The rear seat doesn't have a slide track. You might be able to pull both seats and see if parts would swap on them.
The 390 is a good engine. Both my crewcab and my current supercab had them. Both had 4 barrel holleys. The crew cab got 8mpg my supercab gets 12-13. I think the main difference is the rear gear between the two.
For audio, if the dash is unmolested and you want to keep it nice; check out Custom Auto Sound. They make radios for vintage cars that bolt into the existing dash. You can get AM/FM/Cass with a cd changer head unit.
Good luck
Tom
