Just got me a Haynes Manuel for my '79 f150, and by the way, the wiring diagram 
. It says here that the power steering reservoir calls for Type F a.t.f..????? whats' up with that. Also says that the transfer case calls for 140 weight gear oil, well I work around a prep plant and can get all the 150w I wont. Will 150 work just as well??? same as differentials calls for 90w... Will something in the 80's work as well????? tryin' to save a buck or two, without

Ford's Plastic Power Steering pumps Use type F trans fluid.
That's just what they use !
