If you are buying them to buy them as an alternative to the factory issue plugs, great. If you are looking for more power from the alleged extra spark than what the engine build specs are made to produce, well, nice try on the cheap hp's thing.

I bet a few "waste of money" types thought they would increase power dramatically. Otherwise, if the engine remains in good health after using them, they did their job. That's all I look for, really. I will go through the whole spectrum of plugs....cheap, not-so cheap, and I haven't had any chip off in the engine....so I can't say I am picky, but maybe lucky at the same time.

The only brand I have semi-consistently heard of being "bad" was Bosch. They were good for my A/C VW Beetle, not so for my Isuzu truck. Then again, I drove like 30K miles that year in that truck and the carb was going bad, so the plugs may not have been so bad from what I read off of them, as I originally thought.

Ehhh, depends on how new your sled is I'd say. I put some my uncles 98 F150 V6 and it ran good for about 3k miles, then went to crap. It ran so bad he thought it had a timing problem. We pulled the splitfires, they looked fine and were gapped right, and replaced them with some Motorcrafts and it has ran great for about 10k now, so I guess it was the plugs. My local stealership says on newer vehicles (I'd hardly call a 98 newer) there is a real need to stick with the factory specs, err line their pockets more.

I had some in my 01 Dodge Dakota and i think they contributed to the engine problems I had. Then again I never investigated and traded the truck in on my Edge, so who knows?
