Have a 2001 Edge, 3.0 with manual tranny, considering getting a new Ranger. My local stealership doesn't have any Edge Rangers on the lot so I haven't been able to see one yet, and Ford's website doesn't really help neither. My 01 has vinyl flooring instead of carpet, and some kind of vinyl stuff instead of cloth seats. I really don't care for it too well. Are 05 Edge's the same way? Or do they now come with a regular interior? Also is the 4.0 available on the Edge? Thx for any help you guys can give.
Hello Thaxon ! I just purchased a new 05 ranger edge 2 weeks ago. The interior on my ranger is the same as 05 xlt . The seats are black with gray inserts, vinyl floor covering, two tone black and gray dashboard and gray jump seats and gray cloth sun visors. The gauges have a silver background panel with red and green lighted dials.... very sharp. The exterior has matching painted front and rear bumpers and wheel moldings. I have a supercab 4x4 with a 4.0 engine with 5 speed auto transmission. This is my 2nd ranger. My previous was a 03 fx4 supercab with 4.0 auto transmission. Ther is not much difference between the two. The only reason I got the edge is that it had a tow package and bedliner, two thing that I wanted and would have had to get aftermarket later. I hope this helps as you can tell I am a happy ranger enthusiast.
Rangerman...you have EXACTLY the truck I want. Right now I have a 2000 Ranger 2x4 xlt with the 3.0 and the only thing I dont like about it is the 2x4 suspension and the weaker 3.0 V-6. I would also like to get the 2006 with the few styling upgrades.
Can I ask what the price was after the employee discount?
My 05 edge was $19980. after employee discount and $500. home depot discount. It has power windows, door locks and keyless entry. ALSO BEDLINER AND TRAILER PACKAGE
