Speedo Accuracy

I realize that a larger than stock tire size will affect the accuracy of the speedo. But, does anyone know or have specific ratios of mph/tire size. I was pulled over recently with my cruise set at 58 and the officers radar read 66. I didn't realize there would be this much discrepency. Also, does this gap become larger as speed increases? Is there a procedure to reset the speedo to read correctly based on the new tire size? Thanks.

The speed difference can be calculated from the diameter ratios, and there are several calculators are out on the internet. The speedo can be recalibrated on the Bronco, but only a grand total of six times. (on a '95, to be precise) There are add-in boxes that connect to the VSS in the rear end that can correct for a larger size of tire. They're about $150 - $200 ATM. They're useful if to plan to change your tires often. (i.e. have 2 sets of different size)
