Wink GT-40 Intake

hi everyone. i have a 94 f150 single cab w/the 302 engine. i was wondering, can you put the GT-40 intake on it? its so popular with the mustang boys, so why not in a truck? if its possible, what are the mods you have to do? what type of throttle body, mass air meter, etc. thanks in advance guys.

The gt40 intake will bolt right on but you will have to bolt the upper with the throttle body on the driver's side, you will need a throttle body for a mustang, and your stock MAF meter will work fine.

I did a similar swap but i used a stock mustang intake. I made the intake plumging out of two 3" rubber ebows one 3" rubber coupling and two or three short pieces of 3" pvc pipe, you can find all of this at Home Depot or Lowes. You will also need a braket for the throttle cable, you should be able to find one in a junkyard if not you can make one out of sheet metal. I think i covered everything you will need to do but if you have anymore questons let me know and i will try and help.

WOW!!! What an amazing idea!!! Can you get and upper and lower intake from a mustang in a junk yard perhaps? Does it have to be a "High Output" intake or a Cobra intake? What sort of hp gains did you get? Awesome idea dude!

You should be able to find a mustang intake in a junkyard, but it might be eaiser to find an explorer intake witch is almost identical to a cobra intake and alot better than the stock mustang intake. You probably wont pick up much hp from the stock mustang intake but you will most likly pick up a little low end torque over the stock truck intake.(long skinny runners=more low end torque, short fat runners=more high rpm hp)

Wow this is some great information. I will definately look for the explorer intake, i'm sure they're much more common. You said there wouldnt be much horsepower from the mustang intake. Will the explorer intake provide more? Any intake, explorer, mustang, would you recomend it? Is it worth it? Also, how much horse power can I expect with the explorer intake? Thanks again.

The truck intake is taller and has an external EGR tube. The Mustang intake has an internal EGR passage. The truck intake should make more torque by design and the Mustang intake should make a little more higher rpm HP.
The large ports of the GT 40 intake will lose torque which is what you need in a heavy truck. I'll take that intake off of your hands for my Stang though
