3 Speed Shift lever

I am trying to replace my shift lever on the column with a chrome one from my custom cab parts truck. All my other trucks the pin was worn and just slid out. This one I have hit with a punch and will not budge. I do not want to hit it any harder. This feels like a stupid question but is there a trick to this? I know it's not siezed because it moves a bit when shifting. If/When I get it out, will it still be tight?

Some aftermarket ones use a hollow pin with two buttons that slide out in to the casting. they don't push all the way out.

That's a tough call. It sounds like you are being careful and that's the best way. Worse case you could carefully drill the pin out?

hey on this same subject, i have a 64 f100 custom cab 292 v8 3 on the tree, when i shift the collar on colum is really loose like it will twist around some and such, does anyone know how to fix this or tightin it?

or would i just have to buy another one? if so whats a good place?

Have the T18, but if recall remove the horn button(push down and twist counter clockwise0) there should be 2 nuts, check to see if they are secure. Caution, the bolts are beveled on the underside and can be tricky getting them anchored.
