The other day both of my factory foglights quit working on my 02 F150. From looking at the owners manual i can only find 2 fuses and a relay that say anything about foglights. One of the fuses is under the dash, the other in the power distribution box along with the relay. I checked both of the fuses and they are both fine. How can you tell if a relay is bad? It seems very strange for both of the lights to go out at once.
Relays are cheap....real cheap...like $5. Get a new one and replace. Those type of relays are usable in more than one place so if it doesn't fix it then you have a spare.
If that doesnt work, then swing by a dealer and ask them to "try" a new MF switch. If it works, then pay for the switch. If it doesn't...give it back. I have had to do that before to see what was broke before buying alot of un-needed parts. Just make sure to have it ready to unplug before you go.

Thats why i said to ask about "checking it out", (without even leaving the lot.) Not every one will let you do this but I did find a dealer near work that doesn't mind since the parts counter is at the door and you can see the truck pretty easy. At least for the easy plug n go parts.
