Rearend???
I have a 79' F100. I pulled the 6 out and dropped a built 351W in it. I was thinking that with the stock 6cylinder rear end it should be geared real low and spin tire real easy. Well it does spin the tire when you are starting on a upgrade or turning but barly barks on a flat straight takeoff. Could anyone tell me the size of the stock rear end. I was planning on putting a Posi Track rear end under off a old 4wheel drive if i could find one. But if it has problems turning over one tire what will it do with two. Or is a 4wd rear end geared lower. I don't know. The rearend under it now doesn't seem low because it will do everybit of a 100 mph. any help or suggestions would be great. thanks.

most of the 2wd's i've seen have 2:73's, a switch to 3:50's with the 351w would be a good choice, any lower you loose alot on the highway.
most 4x4 either had 3:50's or 4:10's
