It was a early 90's Z28 i believe, meaning its a 350, i had been stuck behind a guy driving a small sedan on the highway, not tailgating, because it is unsafe, but there was this early 90's comaro right on my ***, as there was nowhere for me to go, i couldnt shake him, this continued for about twenty miles. Finally we got to a two lane zone, me and him ended up side by side at a red light. I was revvin my stock 460, showin him that i dont like him or his chevy, so when the light turned green, i nailed it, he was in my rear view mirror in no time. As i dont like speeding, being unsafe or breaking the law, i stopped at 50 in a 45 zone. He soon passed me, and reached well above 70-80 MPH, apparentley a little angry at me, and his lacking comaro.
The stock motor for an early 90s Z28 was a TBI 305.... The IROC got the 350 in TPI form as an option, there was also a TBI 350 option for the RS, and Z as well... But if it was a showroom car, and not special order then it was probably a 305.. While our '86 Iroc will hold it's own, it's not a fast car.
you sure, it wasnt the eighties style, it was the predecessor to the one they just canceled. I just wanna make sure that its not something i can be proud of lol.
Edit: Looking at one of the car books i got for christmas, it was a 1993-1997 model, Z28 350, Im proud of my truck again lol.

heh heh heh.... I've blown away 2 porsches before in betwixt the mountains here in north georgia. I ain't lyin - you guys haven't SAT in Harrison before. He wakes up and "wants to dnace" like at about 70 - sounds like a T-rex on the rag (in other words.. LOOK OUT!! ). I don't know if people back off 'cuz they KNOW they are gonna get run off the road by some old fart in a "raggedy" old truck (sleeper) or they back off 'cuz they think a rocket is next to them ( I admit the two 48" thrush "mufflers" are VERY loud when he wakes up - the Lunati is built for mid-range power ).
Anyway, I've passed TWO of 'em!! Now that gas is $2.50 a gallon here in Cartersville, even the ricers pass me!! ( I let 'em.... )
Most trucks are geared pretty low(4.10) and are fast off the line. Once a sporty car gets moving tho, he will get you. A lot of the sporty cars are geared pretty high(3.08 etc) so they have no off the line performance.
I had a96 Impala SS which according to the rags was about a 15 second car capable of an easy 140mph plus. I did get surprised in a stoplight drag by a 150 once, he hole shotted me pretty good, but once I got moving he was dead meat.
My 94 F250 with 460 probably would outdrag a camaro from a stop but after about 90 mph it is mostly thrashing.
