Look, if you V-All Climated changed every 3-3500K, do you really think this oil is ever going to cause an oil related problem?
Of course not. It is just a matter of "bang for the buck". There are other brands that normally cost less. Castrol, Pennzoil and Valvoline regular dino oils sell for over $2 in most stores today to pay for big advertising budgets. I do not shop at Walmart, so SuperTech is out for me. Chevron, when on sale at Kragen for $0.89 is a very hard deal to beat.
Without getting too much into starting a drain interval debate, I do not dump oil at 3months/3000miles and havent for many years. A decent conventional oil should be able to last the normal drain interval, which was one year/7500 miles on the Chevy, for example. The best base stock and additive package goes a long way to help make me comfortable with it.

My '04 GTO has 4500 miles on it now and the GM "Oil Life Monitor" hasn't gone off yet. When it does, I'll change, using $0.59/quart (on sale ) Shell 10w-30.
Just trying to distinguish between your belief that it is bad oil as opposed to your believe that it is not worth the price.
I would not say it is "bad" oil, and on sale it may be the right price for some folks, I just don't care to put the bottom of the line oil of any brand in my vehicles. I did hear from one of the top oil analysis interpreters that Maxlife is what AllClimate should have been and I do prefer the high mileage oils on the belief that insofar as they get away from the constraints of CAFE/Starburst/Energy Conserving, the more robust the oil will be. Also, I am trying to extend my OCIs from the old 3000 mile limit and feel that the better oils will be more suited to that.
