plastic headlights
these new plastic headlight covers sure are nice and clear, but for how long? anybody ever hear of any "covers" for them. you know, like the ones you can get for the screens on pda's. or the plastic film they use on the nascar cameras that you can remove and replace with new ones when they get scratched. I ask because I had a '95 taurus that the lights got so bad I could hardly see with them. had to "polish" them with chrome polish every so often to take some of the haze off just to be able to see at night. sure wish I could find a glass replacement for the covers.

Griot's garage sells clear polymer sheets. I bought a sheet to protect the tank on my motorcycle. It's crystal clear.

May wanna try the Ventvisor line of products...or even GTO ...when i had my Ranger ('99) i had a set of the "smoked" and "clear" covers... and at only 40bux or so for a pair....its cheap insurance vs. the price of a pair of headlamp assy.. Most of these covers are a polycarbarbonite.. True lexan would be a personal choice for me if i were in the market. To keep the covers lookin' good ....Turtle wax carries a neat Plastic polish and scratch remover (it does well for removing smaller scratches) I also know 3M also carries a polish and cleaner and so does Novus ...of course im recommending most of these for anytype of plastic cover you may find. For the headlamp by itself, I recommend using it in a small corner to ensure it doesn't discolor or form a haze on it.
