Hey, I've got a '92 EB Bronco with a 302, bone *** stock. I'm having a problem with the starting circuit.
Whenever I turn the key to start it, I hear popping-like noise coming from under the hood (possibly the solenoid?) and then the whole truck has no electrical power whatsoever. Then it comes back on after a few minutes, like there's a computer resetting it or something. This happened twice in a row and it absolutely killed the battery. Whatever the sound is, it's drawing a massive amount of power when it happens. What should I look for? A short in the starter circuit? I'm new to computerized vehicles (and I guarantee this will be my last), is there something computerized I should look for or be aware of?
Well...I was about to go out and look, but then as I said in the first post, I am new at these computerized vehicles. Any computer mumbo jumbo stuff I need to know about on this? I'm scared to touch these new-fangled things without makin sure there's no computer in my way.
