waste gate
first thanks for all the info i have learned more from this site than 1000 haynes or chilton manuals. i have a 97 f 250 and have heard everyone talk about disconnecting the waste gate, they say to unplug the red line??????? is that a red wire,red vacuum line, red hose, and were would it be located on a 97.

Cookie is right - waste gate is only on 99 and later.
Just so you know, it is a pressure line with a red cap. If you had a 99 or later, you'd disconnect it and plug it onto a stud or something to block it. Then watch your boost go up a little bit.
