1987 E350
My mom manages several apartment buildings and their upkeep, maintenance and etc. One of them had an abandoned 1987 E350 in the parking lot. It's been there for like 3 years and the owner is in jail (they think). Her boss said it was mine if I tow it away once they do the legal mumbo jumbo with the cops over ownership and etc. I drove over to see it, it's an old Ryder truck. The cab is toast - rusted out but it's got 6 good tires, the frame is good, the box is ok and it's powered by a 6.9 diesel with a heavy duty C6 version behind it (I think?). Hopefully the title pans out and they can claim ownership....Then it's all mine!!!! hahaha!!!! If we can title it we may get another cab from my buddies junkyard and fix it up with the box gone so I can build a drive on deck for hauling my drag car. I had it towed to my friends salvage yard last night and I told my friend to see if she can get it all legal so I can buy it from them for a tidy sum of $70 (the towing charge)...hehe....She filled out the paperwork today to start a mechanic's lien on it for the towing and storage fee's. I took the batteries home to charge them so I can see if the engine will roll over in the morning I just want to know if it's siezed or not. I'm gonna pull the wheels from it so they won't be stolen, The front tires still have the factory "nubs" on them...LOL..... It's showing 223,000KM on the clock so that's not too much wear on a 6.9L diesel is it? I'm a Truck and Transport mechanic so fixing this up won't be too hard but this will be my first "personal" diesel engine in my ford fleet...LOL
