Blown up differential part 2
The sagga continues in the deserts of Nevada.
When we last left our superduty he was making numerous calls in the desert to find a differential or repair shop...
Anyway, I find a holding yard nearby to store the trailer I was pulling. I limp on down the road to Reno....35 more miles at about 6mph
I roll into the shop and these guys have got to be the best. They tore into her burnt oil and all and had her vatted up and parts ordered by 5pm. I arrived at almost 3. Well, lucky for me Hot August nights was going on at the same time so the chances of me finding a room were about nill. God was watchin and I had a room within walkin distance.
I return the next morning to a little pandomonium, but first I have to describe the guts of her diff......BLACK BURNT ALMOST NO OIL LEFT, BROKEN SPACER, CARRIER FELL OUT, BEARING ON DRIVERS SIDE A SICKENING GARBLE OF METAL AND THE ROLLER BEARINGS THAT OF A SQUARE TUBE AS THEY FELL TO THE GROUND, SPEEDO SENSOR MELTED TO THE COVER
