i have 06 cc dually v10. when towing my 10.000 k trailer engine will start to skip slightly at high rpm under hard acceleration especially on hilly back roads.
doesnt do it when on highway.almost like its starving for fuel. i towed twice
at 300 miles and at 700 miles. so it shouldnt be filters or such. it pulls hard
to a point then starts this skip or loss of power?
That's too low RPM for what I was thinking. There is a rev limiter, but it's set at about 5300 RPM. I don't have any other ideas, except take it back to the dealer.

plugged or partially plugged fuel filter, or a bad coil would be my first 2 guesses. It should do this obviously, even new gas tanks can have gunk in them which can clog a new filter. But the coil on plug is probably the culprit especially a high speed miss, good luck, nice truck ! Ken
Yeah, probably a bad coil, get it back to the dealer forthwith!
If you can get it to "skip", and without shutting it off, bring it to the dealer and have it scanned (again, without shutting it off), they can pinpoint the cylinder #.
not exactly sure at what rpm. i didnt take not of that. maybe it was speed
limiter. truck runs good otherwise.

If the road surface is uneven, and you're moving at a goodly rate, you might be feeling the LSD working as the rear wheels load and unload over the undulations.
