Hello all. I'm new to the forum and looking forward to learning more about the awesome piece of technology I just bought - a 1999 F250 with 7.3 L Powerstroke (has 32K miles now). I just took it on a 2000 mile trip and it performed like a dream. I was hauling a Harley and a few hundred pounds of other stuff in the bed and I don't think the truck even felt the cargo. It performed like it was empty.
I am truly amazed at the power and relative economy of this engine. After reprograming the engine with the middle setting of a Super Chip programmer, I get about 17-18 mpg around town and about 21 to 22 on flat highway (across the Midwest). This is better mileage than my V6 Toyata 4Runner and it way more powerful. Diesels kick ***.
I want to keep this truck forever. I just wish the oil companies would not artificially inflate the price of diesel fuel. I guess you can't have everything.
